This is the sixth part part of our tour report, bringing us to the final country of our tour with Haggard: Greece!
With breakfast and delicious filled pastries from a bakery next to our hotel we were well prepared for the drive straight southwards from Sofia to our first destination in Greece: Thessaloniki! In the city of Thessaloniki we promptly lost our way. But we still managed to make it faster than Haggard, hehe. When Haggard arrived, we had to block two of three lanes of the main road so they could park their large bus. Quite exciting during the worst of rush hour - try to not get run over!
(Click to read more... with lots of video!)
Thessaloniki - where Haggard's and our bus is supposed to go.
The club "Eightball" is located close to the harbour and seems to be at the edge of Thessalonikis party district. The club is rather small compared to the others on this tour. But it was packed with people and we feel rather at home on smaller stages!
You can read a report of the show at N.W.O.H.M.B..
After the show, we went out for dinner at a restaurant nearby. Fanastic food, and it was still warm, so we could sit outside to celebrate the day and the soon ending tour. Sitting outside in November... I should move to Greece.
There's also video from the show ("K.O."):
The next day, we went on to Athens. Except from stormy winds, I don't remember anything about the drive, I was pretty much unconscious ("Hey, Flo, coffee!" - "Huh?") till shortly before we arrived.
Entrance to the club, Gagarin 205
The club, Gagarin 205, was a stark contrast to the day before, big club, tall stage! With the back stage rooms, not back, but above the stage, with steep stairs leading to the rooms - don't trip, you'd fall deep!
And the people of Athens (and a lot of other places around Greece, and even Cyprus?) yet again greeted us with a full house for the final show of our tour! But just the tour - despite what you might have read on the net, we are going to keep on rocking and looking forward to eventually return to Greece!
On stage at Gagarin 205, Athens - Sent to us by Philippos. Thanks!
After Haggard's show, we joined them on stage to say goodbye to the audience. And then it was, sadly, time for us to say goodbye to all the people of Haggard, too. They soon had to leave for Kiew, while we stayed at Athens, to visit (of course!) the Akropolis, and then return to Germany, where it had snowed. What a difference to be able to sit outside in Greece.
So, let us again say thank you so much for a wonderful tour, a tour that will live on in our memories for ever.
First of all, thank you, Haggard, for inviting us on the tour.
Thanks to Alex, Frank and all the other technicians, who worked to make each to the shows a great event.
And of course:
Thanks to YOU, all the people at the shows, who liked us and made the tour an unforgettable experience for us.
